Paulist Media Ministries
The Paulist Press is the largest Catholic distributor
and publisher in the world, employing 235 lay employees and the
services of six Paulist priests. The Paulist Press distributes almost 20 million books, pamphlets and magazines each year. In
1963 the Paulist Press enlarged greatly when it acquired Newman Press. After its founding in 1865 by Father Isaac Hecker the
Paulist Press began publishing The Catholic World magazine and has done so since then. The Paulist Press is headed up by Father
Lawrence Boadt, CSP, who is President of the Paulist Press.
The
Paulist Productions
create films and television programs that both entertain and enlighten. Spiritual
values are at the
heart of each production. The late Father Ellwood "Bud" Kieser founded Paulist Productions in 1960 to produce the syndicated
series "Insight" which won five Emmy Awards during its 23 year run. Paulist Productions has worked with a stellar line up of
talent including Carol Burnett, Patty Duke, Walter Matthau, Ed Asner, Ron Howard and Rod Serling, to mention a few. As of
September 1, 2009 Paulist Productions is headed up by Father Eric Andrews, CSP.
