Bulletin Inserts on the Roman Missal

 

 

To help parishes prepare for the 3rd edition of the Roman Missal, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops has provided a series of nine Bulletin Inserts.

The first of these is called Celebrating the Lord’s Day It discusses the special significance of Sunday in Christian life and as a special day of worship and rest. [Included in June 12, 2011 bulletin]

The second insert is called Parts of the Mass.  It identifies each of the various parts of the Mass and briefly explains their purpose and meaning within the larger structure of the Mass. [Included in June 19, 2011 bulletin]

The third insert is called Praying with Body, Mind, and Voice.   It identifies the different postures and gestures which correspond to particular parts of the Mass and other liturgical activities. [Included in June 26, 2011 bulletin]

The fourth insert is called Liturgical Participation.  It highlights the importance of each person’s participation in the Mass. It discusses the different roles in the liturgy and identifies the different ministries exercised in liturgical celebrations. [Included in July 10, 2011 bulletin]

The fifth insert is called Liturgy and Life.  It highlights the relationship between the faith of the Church and our celebration of the liturgy and identifies ways we can connect our participation in the liturgy with our lives of prayer and work in the world. [Included in July 17, 2011 bulletin]

The sixth insert is called Ten Questions on the Roman Missal, Third Edition.  It discusses the reasons for the new translation, how it was produced, and how it is being implemented.  [Included in July 24, 2011 bulletin]

The seventh insert is called Embracing Change in the Liturgy It discusses why and how liturgical changes happen in the Church’s life, and how to understand and prepare for them. [Included in July 31, 2011 bulletin]

The eighth insert is called Scripture and the Mass.  It discusses how the words of Sacred Scripture flow throughout the prayers of the Mass.  [Included in August 14, 2011 bulletin]

The ninth insert is called Words in the Roman Missal, Third Edition.  It discusses some of the words used in the new translation which may be unfamiliar to some.   [Included in August 21, 2011 bulletin]
